Climate
Jamaica has a tropical climate with warm temperatures ranging from 77 to 82 degrees F. The rainy season is May to November, and hurricane season runs from June to November.
Beaches
In Negril, Seven Mile Beach is one of the Caribbean’s most famous beaches. Half-moon beach is a quiet and untarnished stretch of sand that’s hidden in a beautiful cove. Treasure Beach boasts four public beaches and a few smaller coves with warm Caribbean waters. The area is great for swimming and body surfing, and there are sections of the coast that also have good snorkeling.
Activities & Attractions
Activities
The Negril Cliffs are a must-see for their spectacular and battered limestone cliffs that jut into the bright Caribbean waters. If you’re brave, try diving with other visitors. If you’re looking for a natural spa activity, try the healing radioactive Milk River Bath. Or, take an excursion through farm lands filled with coffee and bananas to Bob Marley’s birthplace. There are also a number of beautiful waterfalls, rivers, and reserves to explore via kayak, biking and hiking.
Nightlife
At night, a number of local bars and dance halls keep the reggae music blaring until the early, humid hours of the morning.
