Language
Spanish is the official language of Cuba; however, there are several other languages spoken across the island.
Currency and Tipping
Cuba has two official currencies: the Cuban convertible peso (CUC) and the national peso. Transactions almost always take place in CUC.
Climate & Beaches
Climate
Visitors can enjoy all year round with its sub-tropical climate. The rainy season is from May to October and from August to October is the dry season. Between January and April, the weather is cooler with less rainfall.
Beaches
Varadero is home to more than 10 miles of picturesque white-sand beaches, all perfect for long days of relaxation. The water is known for its warm temperature, making it perfect for swimming.

Being a beach town, a variety of water sports and activities are at your disposable. Varadero also offers many natural attractions for guests to explore, such as the Bellamar Caves, Josone Park and a chain of virgin cays. For the history-buffs, be sure to visit the nearby cities of Matanzas and Cardenas.
Nightlife
At night, Varadero comes alive with plenty of bars, cafes and clubs open for tourists. A top pick is Tropicana Matanzas, Cuba’s most famous Cabaret, but most of all the hotels and resorts have their own vivacious discotheques!
