Tortola has a tropical maritime climate with average temperatures of 76 degrees F in the dry season (January-July) and 82 degrees during the wet season. Tortola can experience hurricane level winds and rainfall during the wet season, so be sure to plan your trip accordingly.
Beaches
Smuggler’s Cove is one of the most popular beaches on the island, with good snorkeling and quiet, white-sand beaches. Anegada Island is picture-perfect with straw huts and a stark hue contrast between its bright waters and white sand. Cane Garden Bay is popular with cruise line passengers because of its great restaurants and bars.

Yacht and sailboat charters are a great way to experience the many bays and islands near Tortola. Snorkeling, wind surfing, and diving are also popular due to the good visibility in Tortola’s surrounding reefs. If you’re looking for a special honeymoon activity, try a helicopter tour for a birds-eye view of paradise. On land, there are a number of national parks, ranging from bird sanctuaries to hiking trails that are both romantic and perfect for the curious explorer.
