Before you get married in Puerto Vallarta, you must provide a valid passport and an original and copy of birth certificates annotated and translated by an authorized translator certified in Spanish. The climate is semi-tropical with an average temperature of 75 degrees Fahrenheit in winter months and 85 degrees F in summer. The rainy season is from June to September.
Beaches
Puerto Vallarta is nestled along the shoreline of Mexico's largest natural bay and has palm-lined beaches with clear blue waters. Los Muertos Beach is one of the largest in town and has a great pier for people watching. Pack a picnic for Garza Blanca Beach, which the locals enjoy in peace on the weekend. To explore the bay’s natural caves and underwater tunnels, be sure to check out Los Arcos National Park.

The Malecón, Puerto Vallarta’s half-mile promenade, lines the city’s historic center with great shops and restaurants. For couples, schedule time in the “Romantic Zone,” a made-for-lovers, intimate square. Climbing the Matamoros lighthouse offers a great workout and sweeping views of one of the world’s largest bays, while a day sailing gets you close to humpback whales and dolphins.
