Climate & Beaches
Climate
Jamaica has a tropical climate with warm temperatures ranging from 77 to 82 degrees F. The rainy season is from May to November, and hurricane season runs from June to November.
Beaches
Seven Mile Beach is one of the Caribbean’s most famous beaches and has soft white sand that’s walkable for miles. The water is bright, warm, and shallow so it’s a great option for families or leisurely swimmers. Half-moon beach is a quiet and untarnished stretch of sand that’s hidden in a beautiful cove, and the Booby Cay is a nearby island where locals cook fresh lobster for visitors on the beach.
Activities & Attractions
Activities
The Negril Cliffs are a must-see for their spectacular and battered limestone cliffs that jut into the bright Caribbean waters. If you’re brave, try diving with other visitors or locals into the crashing waves below. The Blue Hole Mineral Spring is a cave that opens to incredibly pure mineral waters—a cheap (and far more beautiful) alternative to a day at the spa. Negril has a number of beautiful beaches, including the well-known Seven Mile Beach with beautiful and bright waters and colorful orange and pink sunsets every night.
