Couples planning weddings in Mazatlan will need a valid passport and an original and copy of birth certificates annotated and translated by an authorized translator certified in the Spanish language before their civil ceremony. Beaches
Playa Sabalos on the Golden Zone’s north end is a low-key beach that’s perfect for relaxing, while Playas Camaron and Las Gaviotas are livelier. If you have surfing chops, Playa Olas Altas, or “Beach of Big Waves” has been a surfers dream since the 1950’s.

Mazatlan hosts numerous cultural activities throughout the year, including the famed Carnival Festival in February. The town is also home to Las Labradas, an open air museum with a collection of carved stones dating back as far as 1,500 years. El Faro- one of the tallest natural lighthouses in the world- has incredible vistas and plays host to daredevil locals who will dive into the rocky waters below for tips. On the water, you can cruise through the harbor to watch the largest shrimp fleets in Mexico, or try your hand at deep-sea fishing.
