In order to get married in Ixtapa, a valid passport and an original and copy of birth certificates annotated and translated by an authorized translator certified in Spanish prior to the civil ceremony. Ixtapa has a Tropical Savanna Climate, with average temperatures of 89 degrees Fahrenheit from June to September, and 85 degrees F during the winter.

Playa El Palmar, named for the coconut plantation that once stood on its shores, has golden sand beaches and swimmable surf. Ixtapa Island also boasts beaches that are great for both snorkeling and swimming.

With two, 18-hole designer courses set against the Pacific Ocean, golfing is a popular pastime in Ixtapa. If you prefer to be on the water, try your hand reeling in 75 to 100 pound Marlin, Tuna or Dorado on a fishing excursion. Or, if you’re less keen on working for your meal, a sunset dinner cruise is a great way to unwind and enjoy the breathtaking bay views. If you’re looking for an adventure, take a daytrip over to Zihuatanejo, Ixtapa’s sister fishing village known for its unique, artsy vibe and quiet beaches.
