A valid passport, and an original and copy of birth certificates annotated and translated by an authorized translator certified in Spanish are required by couples planning a wedding on Isla Mujeres. Isla Mujeres has an average temperature of 80 degrees Fahrenheit and the winter months are the driest. The island is generally humid, with a near constant island breeze.
Beaches
The most famous beach on the island is Playa Norte, which is a great spot to pick up gear for beach activities like kayaking and snorkeling. For a more secluded outing, trying Playa Paraiso or Playa Indios on the west side of the island. These beaches are quieter and also have shark pens that you can take a dip in (if you’re brave).

Home to the largest underwater museum on the planet, be sure to explore the Underwater Sculpture Museum, where you can swim through a portrait garden with over 400 life-sized figures. The island’s dolphin discovery is also a great family-friendly option, or you might rent a moped or golf cart to explore the island. From May to September, giant sea turtles lay their eggs on Isla Mujeres beaches, making for an unforgettable opportunity if your trip coincides with hatching season.
