Cape Town has a Mediterranean climate with mild, wet winters and dry, warm summers. The temperature has slight seasonal fluctuations, with highs near 80 degrees Fahrenheit in January and 60 degrees F in June.
Beaches
Cape Town is known for its two peninsulas, which blend Atlantic and Indian Ocean beaches. On the western side, golden beaches like Camps Bay and Clifton are known for their jet-setting crowd and glamorous amenities. Boulder’s Beach gets its name from the hunks of granite that sprinkle the inlet and shallow waters. Be prepared to share towel space—Boulder is home to curious and adorable penguins.
