Climate & Beaches
Climate
Greece has a Mediterranean climate with generally mild winters and hot summers. Rainfall usually occurs between the months of October and April.
Beaches
Beaches in Santorini are some of the most striking (and unusual) in Europe. With sand color ranging from red to black to white, a variety of rock formations, and deep blue waters, they are one-of-a-kind. Beaches in northern Oia are not easily spotted off the main road but have a wild, untamed beauty. Perissa Beach has many cafes lining its shores, and Eros Beach has fine, black sand.
Activities & Attractions
Activities
The open air cinema in Kamari plays movies high in the hills with breathtaking views and unparalleled ambiance. The hike from Fire to Oia takes a couple of hours to complete, but provides guaranteed show-stopping views of the Aegean Sea. If you’re interested in music and history, La Ponta is a Venetian tower where Greek percussionists and flutists perform on the towering terrace. Santorini is also home to a number of vineyards and beautiful seaside restaurants, so foodies will have plenty to enjoy.
